I understand that RM has been using the (current) "springy" butterfly type deployant for quite some time now. I've noticed that other brands, such as chanel and urwerk have also been using the same deployant. Would anyone know which entity first developed... 

believ Chanel sells it to all other brands. Urwerk, MB&F and RM are the ones I have seen it on so far.
