It is a clever design.
One of the problems with conventional deployant clasp is pinching of the skin leaving brand "insignia" (see below). 
Another is the bulky mechanism next to the skin that catches on tables.
A third problem is size adjustment changes the clasp position relative to the wrist.
This Piaget design removes those 3 problems; there is no bulky clasp next to skin.
