Makes for a very dressy tool (if there was such a thing)
IMO, OP made an excellent choice is placing this very refined mvt in a very classic case design, at a very managable 42mm no less !

Piaget is a quiet powerhouse of movement design and artistic know-how. Their prowess in the creation and manufacturing of ultra-thin movements is really second to none. It's no wonder that their movements have powered the watches of many other storied bra...
The only catch....
is that people often are careless with their pronunciation between Piaget and Piguet, another respected supplier of movements for high-end watchmakers. Bill

I think both watches are a great value, and the IWC can be had for half the price of an Altiplano due to the steel case. it is also so much nicer to wind than the FA Jones movement in the Portuguese Hand Wound. Bill

Thanks Bill for the information. I knew that Piaget movements were used in watches from Cartier and other 'grande maisons' but the IWC took me by surprise! Every day, a little more learning........ MTF
I had to dig a little to find out what was inside the IWC....
as IWC never promoted the watch. I suspect that collectors will seek out the IWC for having the Piaget movement like they seek out the Mark XII for having the JLC 889. Bill
