I think the use of the term "Possession" is meant...

 

...poetically.  To be consumed, "possessed" by love, is what Piaget is getting at IMO.  I also think the word stems from their design of circles within circles, or a union of joined circles -- one "possessed" by another (think of the rotating bezel within the circular case, or their Possession rings which are formed essentially of two eternal circles fused into one piece).
