I’ve tried using a monopod but somehow I seem to be unable to hold that thing steady.
But I’m starting to like my tripod more and more especially now that I bought a decent one. Next step is to get a shutter release cable (or remote) to eliminate even more vibrations thus being able to decrease shutter speed further.
It’s a learning curve. It feels like I’m, step by step, starting to get a better understanding of how you can change the entire look of your picture by managing the shutter-aperture-ISO triangle. It’s fascinating how dof, colors and exposure are influenced by those 3.
And even nicer; it also feels as if there is a long road ahead. As if you learn something new every day and that’s what makes it all the more interesting (at least to me)

f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, compensation... and how did you focus, tripod? There are some very bright signboards in the composition. I like the reflections on the water... Casey .

Tried to implement the tips you gave me. Used: Shutter 1/30 f 5.6 ISO 400 Tripod It did make the sky darker and it brought out the reflections nicely. The bright signs on the buildings are still very bright but not so much blown out as on previous edition...
Thanks for the feedback Jurry...

Kudos for using the tripod... I have found that for stitched panoramic shots that a monopod can work and is easier to carry... more please. Casey

I knew you had lives here but not that long ago. At that time Dubai basically stopped at the Hilton at the great roundabout (nowadays the convention center), then there was 35 km of nothing, then Jebil Ali the only oil terminal. Nowadays those 25 km are f...
