image search engine, I've known about them for a while now but have literally never gotten to using any of them simply because I didn't have to. Now I've bookmarked the TinEye website and am sure I will come to seeing how it works soon enough
. In regards to genres, I have indeed always struggled with fiction which isn't heftily grounded in reality (or in other words scientific principles) and that means that Science Fiction for the most part was always a non-starter for me, even as a child my favorite shows and films were Miami Vice, The Dollars Trilogy and various animation. With animation obviously anything goes so it's exempt from those constraints by default in my opinion. Rare successful films in the sci-fi genre for their truly unique execution to me would be District 9 (dir. Neill Blomkamp) and Interstellar (dir. Christopher Nolan), I'm struggling to think of anything else other than the ones executed with comic relief as a primary goal, examples of which are most of what Schwarzenegger has done in his heyday. This cinematic throwback reminded me of a personally very funny alternate ending to the film Dumb and Dumber which cleverly delivers a firm jab at film criticism
. To be fair, I've sadly reduced my reading of photography literature since I had to sell my Nikon camera but I do still read articles every now and then (including yours of course) and if I do come across something I will make sure to forward it
. I do plan on purchasing another camera down the line but it might take me a year or two to do so. Cheers, Filip
Very interesting.

I latched onto Tolstoy's thoughts on "art in the narrow sense" as a counter to his earlier muddle of good vs. bad, which to me was a non-starter. ... as well the concept of an "amateur artist" makes little sense ; )

in total agreement with your viewpoint Casey on the topic and with the related definitions. Yes, it is all about succeeding in conveying feeling and no, the feeling in question does not necessarily have to be 'important'. His attempt at classification bet...

I would agree with the Christian Bale quote that "art" is not always the purpose behind the activity... to report, to document, etc. are also valid reasons. In this case it may be as a craft or profession or... BTW, nice portrait of Bale. John Malkovich v...

I try to pick as nicely done portraits of people as I can find when I decide to add a quote to a portrait. In this instance, his was done by an LA Times staff photographer for a promotional interview he did with the publication back in 2014. I do not howe...
