More Wild Kingdom (in my extended garden)

We all live with neighbors who are near or far, depending on circumstances. They may have an unruly child, a loud dog, a beautiful car, or a lovely garden. In any case most of us live in the midst of a world that is not entirely of our own making. So it is with us. Today I ventured out -- not far, only 100 feet from my property, and took a few photos of the neighbors' plants.

I found these brilliant orange roses:

And in the same yard these plants I can't identify:

Across from that house I saw a passion fruit vine

I think that's what this is:

Pride of Madeira is the name of this one, which was straight across from my house, and also housing ...

some Bird of Paradise! Look very closely,

This bird got in the way and ruined my shot of the flowers @(*^&*^% I had no idea it was feeding there until I focused and saw humming in the viewfinder. So I took a few chance shots and got these two. Wonder of wonders!

As I went back to my office, I almost felt my roses were boring by comparison ... but not quite! There are about 50 coming out on the bushes here.

Cheers,

Cazalea
