I file photos offline by year, thus my problem is to figure out when I was in Paris ; ) In the process I found a few B&Ws from the past (some are reposted here)... Hope you like these old film shots... 01) 16-July-2012 - back street dining in Shimokit...

The first three are from Shimokitazawa in Setagaya-ku Tokyo... it's a location known for it's many theaters (stage plays) and live-houses (small music venues) as well as eating and drinking for students. Always a good place to take photos. . Casey

That last night shot is from the area just next to the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo... a tripod shot from the traffic median... it's a wonderful location for cherry blossom viewing as well. Thanks for the kind words. . Casey

I love black and white as a medium, in general. The first photo is the most compelling to me.

I use to live in that area... and I originally shot the building without the person, as part of a series of "neighborhood" photos... I liked the setting so I went back and waited for someone interesting to walk by... by luck there was a place to sit down,... 

The first one for a certain stark austerity, reinforced by the singular element of the umbrella and sole person in the frame. The last one for the poetic contrast of the light orbs of the cars vis a vis the moon. Thanks for sharing these... TM

I like looking back through the archives... with a new eye ; ) as I can find a sense of encouragement in previous efforts . In that first shot, I just love her costume... an added ingredient of patient luck . The moon above traffic was a planned shot all ... 

umbrella japan street + montmartre= 1) Paris street Rainy Day 2) Or mayhaps you prefer the cinema??? 3) Or maybe just Shinjuku sans umbrella!! ...  

If so, I haven't been down there for awhile... maybe time for a revisit and the Hasselblad showroom is just around the corner ; ) . Thanks for the comments, Casey
