I'm not sure about that hourglass mark on its belly Low light and gentle wind made it hard to lock onto the spider Not to mention it kept jumping up and down to flutter the web Patiently I kept sneaking closer until I was too close for comfort This was ab...

Wonderful photos.

But if you live to meet spiders then move down to Australia with us. This “little fellow” was living in my car - not sure sir how long. One day he/she decided to go for a walk while my wife was driving. SHE did not appreciate it being there 😀 ...

If I saw that it might be decorating the bottom of my shoe!

I don't like spiders very much except as photo subjects

Oh yes!!! You and me both!

I had to fumigate every nook and cranny of the car before this little monster came out. My wife told me she would refuse to EVER get back into this car unless I could show her the dead spider. She was prepared to sell the car THAT DAY!

Huntsman?

Had that crawl up to greet my wife on the dashboard of our old Saab 9000 in the Harbour Tunnel years ago! Not dangerous but look menacing, especially when cornered,!

Yep. Huntsman it is!

Not often dangerous, but scary as $%^& when they drop on you. It's those horrid hairy legs - yikes! Doesn't bear thinking about it

That looks like it!

I’ll check him out again later when I get home. Thanks for the ID Mike

Yup, Neoscona Crucifera -- a common Orb Spider. We have them all over our yard this time of year. And because of our porch light, they make their webs every night right by the door, every September through November. [nt]

And I have walked right through their webs more often than I'd like too, one time face-first right into her...I screamed like a little girl.

AHHHHHHH!

might be worth another try after reviewing the exif data... you must have a tripod laying around somewhere hahaha. Casey

Luckily the wind has blown away all traces of the web

I'll try again in the morning (hoping it will be gone somewhere else besides my front porch)

Impressive pictures! [nt]

I think I have his/her sibling in my garden too

As I was watering a few mins ago, I almost walked through the web! Cheers, Tim ...

I wish you never started this thread.
