Took a short stopover in Vienna a few weeks back. Something I’d been meaning to do for many years, particularly at Christmas time. Some cafe life. Christmas Markets were plentiful, and good food and drink was flowing. Street Corner. Inside looking out. A ...

Indeed we did.

Far too much cake was consumed in general. We even brought some home. ...

I really enjoyed this series of photos...

...especially the first one. Nothing like European coffee ambience and I miss the streets of Europe at Christmas time.

It's beginning to feel a lot like the holiday season...

Lovely photos... doesn't seem to be much snow when you were there... same here. I got introduced to the Christmas Market when visiting Germany... lots of fun There's always a good sized Holiday Market in Sapporo this time of year with great local beer... ...

Thanks Casey. No snow whatsoever and in fact it was somewhat mild (this was closer to the beginning of December).

The nighttime atmosphere at these markets is really warming. And there’s plenty of drink and food to keep everyone happy while browsing / shopping.

Really lovely shots.

Here’s one for you, from another great European city. Can you read the red sign? (I know the focus is on the watch, sorry) ...

I think I own an apartment upstairs.

Dublin?

Druid Theatre Company, Galway.

I think the first professional theatre company to be established outside of Dublin. They’ve premiered a number of Martin McDonagh’s plays over the years, which is apt as they were set in the West of Ireland too. He is these days more famous perhaps in Hol...

He is both my favorite playwright and movie script-writer.

"In Bruges" is in my top 2 or 3 favorite movies. And I saw "Hangmen" at the Atlantic 2-3 years ago. Absolutely hilarious. Did you know his brother wrote and directed "The Guard", which also stars Brendan Gleason?

I knew about The Guard, another good one but I’m biased based on location!

In Bruges is a classic for me, love it. I did not catch Hangmen, it just slipped by and we missed it.

It’s going to Broadway.

Another chance to catch it.
