Nautilus 5712 vs 3712 the differences - part 3 - "the 3 or 4 dots issue"
5712 vs 3712 the differences - part 3 - "the 3 or 4 dots issue"
When we speak about a 3712 we always asked the same question: 3 or 4 dots? We are talking of the red dots indicating the power reserve. These are the facts: in 2005 when the very first 3712, we define as "first series" or as "early 3712", were produced had three red dots until about movement number 3170853 then what we define as the "second series" or "late 3712" had four red dots.
In the beginning of 2006 ref. 3712 were discontinued and we saw ref. 5712.
All ref. 5712 (in every metal) produced from 2006 to the present days have 4 dots.
We made many studies and after some statistical calculations on a large amount of data we came to the conclusion that about 70% of 3712 had 3 dots (first series or early 3712) and 30% had 4 dots (second series or late 3712) - All of this will be inserted in the new version of the "A study of the Patek Philippe ref. 3700 Nautilus"
