Patek Philippe

The watch is not new as this very special version in steel was already introduced in 2011, but not in Basel. There had been some (quiet) rumors about a piece like this at the fair, only. The (first) Ref. 5004 was already introduced in 1996. The sophistica...  

Great piece and fantastic snapshots! Re lack of wrist-shot - maybe it's even better that you forgot about it, I believe it was very difficult to put it off from the wrist after the snapshot;)))

Thanks for posting, Oliver. I quite like the 5004 dial with baton markers, and this one was very elegantly executed.

....and an end of a era/ phase of this size (36 mm) or smaller size complications after which its all the bigger sizes which I personally don't care be in the future preferences and demand will go back to smaller sizes? Not in the forseable future though... 

That era was a GREAT time for Patek Philippe and even when the 5004 looks odd to some it is a true classic, I agree Roni. Thanks! Oliver

when you compare the 5004, 5970, 3970, 2499, etc., with the new 5204 and 5270, the latter are so plain, in my humble opinion. Thank you so much for sharing this rarified piece that few of us will get to see in real time.

Lovely watch that I wish to own one at some point in time. Right now I can only wish for one. :-)
