You're being unreasonable

They've offered you an upgrade to a 5712 or maybe a 5980 with you paying the msrp difference? I'd jump on that.
Or they will exchange dials.
Why do you keep taking these blowup pictures?

Take it back and ask for exchange
By: JohnFowler : June 13th, 2008-07:56
With the amount of $ you must have paid for this, you should not accept this stain. As the defect is on the dial, there is no way that AD can say you damaged it yourself. Take it back and ask them to sort it out. As a responsible reputable watch company, ...
well its not that easy
By: mustu : June 13th, 2008-10:40
well if that was the case it would be amazing.I mean its crazy when the light shines on the dial it really hurts me that such a beautiful piece is ruined by that stain. they are willing to change it but are making it so hard for me to change the watch tha...

yes they did...but if thats the case I would have the 5712/1A by now
By: mustu : June 13th, 2008-11:45
yes they did but the AD did not give the watch to my assistant who went with the watch. They were giving a 5712/1A with the price difference. So I asked Patek Philippe that I would like to have the watch in the UK or France and they said that is not possib...
also asked Patek Philippe
By: mustu : June 13th, 2008-11:49
I also asked Patek that I am not interested in the 5712/1A as I cant travel ( fly) my self and would gladly take a new 5711/1A in Europe but they said NO!!! go to the ad and take the 5712/1A...but Ad did not want to give it... I guess its a crime to buy a...
Known problem..
By: DDW : June 13th, 2008-12:50
These dial QC problems are happening quite often on the Nautilus and Aquanaut models with colour/shading differences and scratches and smudges seen on watches that were taken straight from the sealed box. Patek is happy to take these watches back but the ...

Which AD is this
By: hon8500 : June 13th, 2008-18:48
so I don't buy from them. Can't you just return the watch and get a refund? I believe the ADs in the US would honor that. Hope things work out for you. Good luck.
umm
By: mustu : June 13th, 2008-19:55
I would have to go there for that...
So you're saying
By: gqmagic : June 13th, 2008-21:07
"I had also sent my assistant 3000 thousand miles away only to hear from the AD that I need to come my self to change it even though Patek Philippe informed the AD to change it for me if I sent some one." Did you arrange this in advance of sending your as...
This happened to my friend's watch too
By: adriantsang : June 13th, 2008-21:44
Don't worry. Just call and send it back to PP through your AD and they will either give you a new one or change the dial for you. This message has been edited by adriantsang on 2008-06-13 21:49:05
hellllllooooo
By: mustu : June 13th, 2008-23:43
I can't travel to change a watch... I am going to be in the EU where Patek has its own stores so they could with replace it there but the said they do not intend to and gave me the options mentioned in my other posts. they are how ever willing to change t...
I find it simply unacceptable that you are having to go through this....
By: markkeenan : June 14th, 2008-10:15
These stains are clearly visible and as i have already suggested IMHO I think this dial was destined for a 5712 and then changed for the 5711 after some initial markings were made - it just seems strange that those stains seem to be in exactly the same pl...
well I hope they sort this out
By: mustu : June 14th, 2008-11:40
I just want them to replace my watch and give me what I should have got in the very first place. Being hand made etc etc I can understand if there is a defect but what I cant understand is why is it so hard to replace the watch and give the customer a new...
What's wrong with just replacing the dial?
By: dan1 : June 14th, 2008-16:15
You said they offered to replace the dial, what is wrong with doing that?? It WAS a new watch until you bought it, now it is a used watch. Registered under your name. Even if we all assume it is perfect, Patek has no way of knowing that. You may have put ...
so are you saying its right to sell a watch with a bump/stain on the dial
By: mustu : June 15th, 2008-00:18
do you thinks that fine? defects like this should not really be there in the first place and if they are then a swift solution is the best... you think I enjoy wasting so much time after this... when you see it in person I am sure you will agree that is n...
I suppose there are rules....
By: Dje : June 15th, 2008-09:51
Hi, I suppose there are rules (in dealing after sales services) for PP like for the others. You buy a new PP from a PP AD and 20 days later you discover a "problem". Well it is no longer a new watch, there's a problem under warranty so they offer to repla...
why should the customer bare this issue...when
By: mustu : June 15th, 2008-11:35
Well I have contacted Patek and they were partly helpful... let me not get to what i have been told and what I have been promised cause its not happened. the reality is that if they can't produce defect free watches they should slow the production and loo...
