Have the 5711/1A and two perpetuals; had two Calatravas prior to this. Perpetual calendar chronograph came whispering and of course I ended up choosing the 3970 after careful consideration of other existing models. Below is a pic of my 3970J to help you a...  

Thanks. I have considered both the 5970 and 5270 but not been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to try either on the wrist. I just love what I feel is the more traditional look of the 3970. I also prefer the smaller size. Regards

Hi Kal, is it the chronograph you are missing - with or without perpetual calendar? Why are you interested in the 3970 in specific, when there are some more interesting options? Have you considered a "simple" chronograph like the 5170? Cheers, Oliver ...  

I think it's just a case of having tried on the 3970 I fell in love with it. I also have "small wrist syndrome" and often feel smaller watches like the 3970 suit me better. I have to say though the 5170 does look stunning on your wrist. It's made me think...
