Dear All, If you have to choose only one of these watches: 1. 5980R (new 2010) 2. 5960P (blue dial, new 2010) 3. 5170J (new 2010) which one would you choose and why? I know they belong to different design category but you would notice that they are all Ch... 

They are so different that there is almways a good reason to choose any of these 3...So, to avoid regrets, gets them both! Are you more a manual Chrono Guy? The 5170 is for you. Sporty or Dressy? Sporty: 5980 and / or 5960P Dressy: 5170, but also, why not... 

In the unlikely event you actually want to use the chronograph to measure intervals of more than 30 minutes, only the 5980 or 5960 will be of any use. If you would enjoy having others notice your watch and ask about it, the 5980R will serve you best. If y... 

Hi, I would choose the 5170J for sure, but I'm just me! As already answered these watches are quite different in occasions of use, so if you could tell us more about your tastes and what you plan to do with the watch? Cheers Dje

You could start with the 5960 P.... Its dial is much nicer in real than in picture. Best, Nicolas

No worries Nicolas. We all can use some humors. Thanks again for your comment on 5960P. I have seen and tried on my wrist the older model with anthracite dial, but the color didn't agree with me. Will take a look at the blue dial when it becomes available... 

choose the 5960 which combines both sport and elegance.... however I would prefer the grey dial... cheers

Thank you PinkPanther. Your comment and Nicolas make me rethink. Let me revisit the grey dial. The last time I tried it on my wrist, it didn't agree. Probably due to the all silver chronograph dial vis-a-vis blue inner dial in the latest reincarnation.

It has it all...... But for me most importantly it makes me smile every time I see it on my wrist.. Hope this helps..... M....

The 5170 if you want a dresswatch, but if you're looking for something more sporty you can't beat the 5980. But if the 5070 is an option ...

... they all look gorgeous for different reasons.

If your budget allows the 5170 I would go for the 5170, and later try to save for the 5980 If a 5170 is a bit out of reach today you could buy the 5980 which is a gorgeous watch. Later you can add the 5170 or you can sell the 5980 and use some extra cash ...

but I would prefer a dress watch or a sporty one, not something in between. On the other hand If I could afford all 3 of them I'm sure I would buy the 3 different pieces

having all three would be the best solution..... so long that one can afford them.... cheers
