What is a Nautilus?
To a watch savant, the word Nautilus has only one meaning... But do we even remember what a Nautilus is? Outside of the watch context?
I think of the submarine captained by Captain Nemo in the famous Jules Verne classic. FYI. The first nuclear powered submarine in the United States (and the world) was also named the USS Nautilus when it was put in service in 1954!
And another one...
Two Nautilus, looking at each other. First time they've seen another Nautilus of a different species. No Flash. Nautilus (the marine animal and the human made apparatus) are sensitive to light. Yesterday, a rude young woman took a photo with her flash on, I expressed that there were half a dozen signs informing photo takers to not use flash, but her response was (astoundingly) "I can read."
Photo taken at the aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences museum in San Francisco without flash on an iPhone 5.
Anthony... How about a Nautilus for your fish tank? Warning, Nautilus are naturally sensitive to light and prefer cooler waters. Might have to find a domesticated one.
