Tough choice!
Jul 24, 2019,02:45 AM
I really like the R, it has a gentle copper hue that I find very attractive. I also feel that RG is more dramatic and enchanting as a metal colour, however I wouldn’t buy one....
Platinum has always been my favourite metal, it’s heft is very satisfying. As much as I like the warmth of the RG, I too like the sharp contrast of platinum. But I wouldn’t buy a 5270P either.
My money would go on the the 5270G with blue dial. It is unique to this decade as far as PPC’s are concerned. The regal blue dial is absolutely mesmerising against the WG case.

Regardless of price what is your favorite Patek Philippe 5270? Is Platium worth the difference over other metals? Thanks...Jim

I swapped the 5270/R-001 for the 5270/1R-001. I haven’t seen the “P” and frankly I am afraid to go look at it in the metal!!! Sure looks special in the pictures! ...
Wow Mattie, what a dial, thanks for posting...

This blue dial is very tempting and I believe I like it the best also (with the chin) but I am working a deal on the P and am trying to decide if the extra money for the P is worth it...Jim

Was the dial the reason you swapped?...JIm
I would choose the 5270R
By: sham1 : July 23rd, 2019-19:42
due to the vintage patina on the dial which contrasts well against the rose gold case.

...with salmon dial. It is a stunner in person. I like the fact that platinum seems more durable over time. They will all be astronomically priced in ten years, but the salmon will be top of the heap imho. If I could afford it that would be my choice.
Great point

And I agree with your assessment, the P with Salmond dial IMHO will be the price leader in a decade, I only have the Salmond Bronzo Montblanc 1858 monopusher and I would like to add one more salmon dial, not sure I’ll be around to see the price increase b...
