I think PP is having a very good discipline on the "limited edition"... Actually, you can see that the limited numbers for recent limited edition is getting smaller and smaller... e.g. 10 days: thousands... 5105/5565... 100pcs/300pcs only
The called it "limited" for the fact that it is "limited" (in the usual / common sense)...

Boutique Editions...
I think they have have good reasons to make these limited. These models are not limited for the sake of "limited". Each of these limited edition has its own selling point.
Yes, I think you brought a very good points about other brands in how they handle "limited"...
1. AP ROO: I am confused as I cannot tell a regular models from the limited models... Hey... are they all limited editions???
2. GO: They re-make limited edition... If the initial 100pcs sold out, they make another batch of 100pcs to make it limited to 200pcs...(even they planed to do 100pcs originally).... Some of the GO collectors were not that happy about GO's limited policy... Well.. that happened in the past, don't know if they "fix" the problem now.
3. Roger Dubious / Panerai: Limied Editions? I think they are indeed kidding.... Just changing the color of the dial, or the size of font, or just simply print "Limited" on the dial (or on the back cover) DOES NOT make a watch LIMITED....
