Your detailed, helpful posts have helped and inspired me over the months, and I hold you partly responsible for my having acquired my beloved 3940P!
I think I need to let the bank account recover for an extended period of time given my acquisitions in recent months. After purchasing my 3970J (I specifically went for the yellow gold as I wanted to round out my collection - had several white metals) I feel a sense of peace that I haven't felt for some time. And I love all my other pieces as well and am loathe to trade them out. Does this mean I've reached the "end game"? Time will tell.
Did you ever get bored of any of your beloved pieces and started to look for something else?

I didn't think that I'd be getting another piece this soon. But I suppose if you really want it, you gotta have it...... Nestled quite comfortably in its box, along with the solid case back and stylus. A closer look - flawless design, perfect proportions....

I feel like I have enough white metals in my collection, including platinum and stainless steel. Yellow gold was what I sought, and the balanced dial, size, proportions, etc of the 3970 is just so, so appealing...

My wife and I have almost the same size wrist, so she can wear my 3970. But I cannot wear her ladies Rolex at 26mm! She gets the better end of the deal!

I try to make it a point to rotate across watches especially if I want to give leather straps some rest time, but no surprise, I'm wearing my 3970 two days in a row!

I have several of the white metal references and wanted to balance it out with yellow gold. As it turns out the 3970 is quite lovely and classic in yellow gold! And nowhere near as "blingy" as other all-gold pieces on a bracelet!
Beautiful! But the thing with Patek is...
... Its perfect proportions don't quite make it "stand out" in an offensive "in your face" kind of way, the way that would attract potential thieves (most of whom will probably not know about the Patek brand anyway). Imho there is a "good" kind of "blingy...

But needed to round out the collection with a classic YG piece. Most of the time my steel, platinum and WG pieces occupy my wrist... But I've got to say the 3970 has been hogging space lately!
