How does it wear on the wrist ?

It wears very nicely. It's the ideal case size for me, highly legible dial, clean lines. Lugs 'hug' the wrist slightly, thin side profile so it disappears under the cuff easily, just the right 'heft'.

20 years on from its release - somewhat timeless in its execution - but I am biased!

Agree with Nicolas re the last line. It reminds me of a quote I heard years ago. Unfortunately I don't remember who said it. "Live not for the battles won, live not for the end of the song, live in the along."

That's also a great quote. In the framing of the along, these things then are like punctuations - important, but not the soul and substance.

I feel the same, there's just something about it. I like that the crown guards also talk, it their own way, to the design enthusiasm of the 5711, but in a much more restrained and formal way.

One of my favorites, regardless. Congrats.

It's the 5107!

A Calatrava is always something very special.

The screw down crown is a great feature that makes the watch more versatile. I can't guarantee what the weather will be like when I'm out and about, but I can have some confidence that it will survive an unexpected downpour and not have to keep it covered... 

I was so close to getting one too but I think it was the 5127. What's the difference between the two? They look pretty much identical..

The 5107 has a flatter bezel and more of it. The 5127 feels a bit taller visually due to the arch on the bezel, and looks like it has a wider dial or at least wider dial opening. Both beautiful but I am drawn to the 5107. Aesthetically it feels more balan...

This was in the window of Tourneau in, like, 2005-2006? I tried it on with extreme trepidation. It was like shaking hands with a king. Very nervous. I wondered if I could ever bring myself to buy such a thing. Well, I never got one, but it started the dre...
