Patek Philippe

Thanks again...

Thanks for your clarification.

FYI, I thought of the following reasons why PP would like to be "understated" regarding the 5450P...

1. They have much much more customers than they can entertain... So, they don't want to market the 5450P anymore to make the situation even worse.

2. People are, in general, bored with the Silicon thing...  For the 5450P, they just added the silicon pallet fork (instead of the completely new escapement system).  Breguet had done it 2 years ago (in Basel 2005). They afraid that there is no much "talking point" in 5450P for the general public....(well... I saw the press release so I know how great the 5450P is)

3. They don't want to make other brand unhappy... I believe that they way how they marketed the 5350R had made some brands unhappy... they do learn from mistake.

4. They want to put more effort (and public attention) to the 5207, 5131, and 5124 more... I can tell that ALL the Basel Reports I read metioned these references... (but not a single word on "silicon").

Anyway, it is crystal clear to me that PP did not ask thePurists not to cover the 5450P actively.

For the printed media, let's see if they bother to talk about the 5450P down the road. For that, I doubt it myself.
