Temptation....and some dilema ahead......
Of all the PPs in my collection I found out that I'm wearing the 5496P Perpetual Calendar the least. The older I get, the more my eyesight goes down the hill, ....the more I'm drawn to watches that are more simple and have less complications.
If I pick up a complicated watch to wear, I find myself often not even bothering setting anything else besides the time... which is kind of sad.... but also perhaps a sign to stick with watches that are more simple.
Was just presented an oportunity to purchase this beautiful 5070R this weekend.....but if that happens, 5496P will have to go.
Tough decision:
- Grand complication of an automatic Platinum Perpetual calendar with vs. Manual wind Chrono.
As much as it doesn't make sense logically, emotionally I'm simply more drawn to the 5070r as generally I find it to be *more beautiful watcb* ......and I think that's the bottom line.

As you wrote our hobby / passion isn’t logical at all. I feel how you are drawn to the Chrono. For me it’s the more beautiful watch. I have often traded a watch for another just following my heart. And never regretted it. For example: I traded my PP 5146G...
