I would say the pricing strategy of 5951 is the most controversal part in Basel 2010!
It sounds that there are 2 schools of thoughts. One (eg Jerome and Bruno) thinks that Patek would produce 2 kinds of rattrapantte: A super complication (27-525 movt) and another (29-535 movt) with lower price...Another thought (eg Eric vs and Larry) would think that the Patek manufacturer would raise the status of split second chronograph same as a MR or Tourbillon!
For the time being, I would agree with Larry and Eric as I also think that Mr Stern tries to totally upgrade the "complication stauts" of (27-525 movt). This might be reflected by the fact that they don't want the queue of 5951 as long as 5004! I also agree with Jerome's comment that the finishing and assembling of 27-525 is higher that the MR!
So, I would conclude the pricing stretegy is normal and the manufacturer tries to differentiate the customers who could afford a super complication!
