Patek Philippe

Spectacular shots of this 5075 --- and sincerely glad to see it (along with its two siblings from the same series!) fared so well at the recent Sotheby's HK auction!

Ref. 5075 is one of the first modern Rare Handcraft references, and its historical value is hard to overestimate.

Also worth noting that, thanks to Patek's determination and their leadership in this unique field, the progress made by Rare Handcrafts over the last two decades is truly unbelievable... It is an amazing exercise to sit down and compare the 5075 and 5076 lines with the subsequent out-of-catalog production we have seen in Refs. 5077, 5089, 5738, 5177, 5189, etc.! smile

I'm also happy that the discerning collector community keeps recognizing the artistic/horological importance of ALL Patek Rare Handcrafts at these auctions, whose breadth and significance goes WELL beyond enamel. It was great to see here, among others, the success of a rare 5089G-020 in wood marquetry, authored by the one and only J.B. (I'm fortunate to have the exact same model in my personal collection)... HUGE congrats to its new owner! smile

Keep up your great work going, Lavrentivs, and thanks again for all you've done with your terrific reports during my tenure as Moderator of this forum! smile
