Some aspects of these Calatravas are just so refined:
The lug shapes, 'raised' lacquer print on the name & seconds / minute tracks, the durability of a silvered dial against the elements, etc.. I can't fathom how people organized themselves to make these pieces 70 years ago.

lugs are very interesting ! What size is the watch and how does it wear ? The lugs make it look bigger.

Yes I agree the long lugs make the piece wear 'big'. Similarly I have experience with a Patek 96 which is quoted 30.8mm and, standing on long lugs, wears much 'bigger'. The 96's relatively large crown (of the 12'200 movement) also helps.

magnificent vintage piece. Love to see these vintage pieces from the 50's . So much charm and design . Enjoy . The lugs and crown make it look quite "masculine"
