SAD!!!
Nov 05, 2019,07:31 AM
I am so sorry that you are having to deal with such an annoying situation! My experience with Patek service has been ( ultimately) good. On two different occasions I have had to return watches to them after they had performed service / maintenance . One piece was a 5056 ( annual calendar) the other was a 3970 ( perpetual - chronograph). On both occasions when I had to return the watches for further attention, the people at Patek were great. It took a few weeks to get the watches in question back,
but ultimately the work was done satisfactorily and there have been no further issues. A service rep at Henri Stern in NYC explained it to me when I was very new to the world of fine timepieces: These are very delicate very small machines. They can be a little “touchy”. I really enjoy my Patek Philippe pieces. Great brand.

By: happymsp : November 5th, 2019-02:42
Has anyone with your annual calendar PP ever came across this rare phenomenon? The watch was purchased new from PP Salon in March 2018, since then, it has jumped forward by one month, on three separate occasions, and I honestly don't know which day of the...

Was the watch in continuous use or on a winder all the time while this happened, or did the power sometimes run down and it stopped and you had to reset the date/time again manually?

They are sending it “home” for the very reason you mention yourself

You said: My question to all, is WHY don't they listen to the owner and performed a full overhaul service to ensure all parts within are properly aligned or tightened, and perhaps rectify the jump month phenomenon. I don’t think you will be happy if only ...

Return to Geneva

I have been contacted by PP Salon, to deliver the watch back to them for a detail examination to find out the cause and rectify the problem. Which means I have to personally deliver the piece, another long haul holiday trip planning for 2020, I guess they...
I would personally avoid complete overhaul if not needed

Even the best watchmakers leave marks behind when performing a service. If there is no need to do one I would avoid it just to avoid internal scratches and other “wear” on screws etc that is pretty much unavoidable.
