Patek Philippe 40th Anniversary

The first automatic Golden Ellipse with 240 movement was ref. 3738/100. The watch had dimensions 31.1 mm x 35.6 mm. When Golden Ellipse had the 40th anniversary in 2008 (originally introduced 1968), the dimensions of this watch were perhaps a little bit small for a man. Here is 3738/100G with blue dial; manufactured and sold in 1992.
In 2008 Patek introduced an Anniversary version to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Golden Ellipse. This watch was made of platinum and the size of the watch was a little big bigger; now 34.5 x 39.5 mm.
No engraving on the dial, no diamonds. Patek simply brought Golden Ellipse to modern times.

That's the kind of development I have learned to expect from Patek Philippe. The Anniversary watch does not scream - it just took this timeless design to modern times.
I expected to see similar development from 3700/1A to modern times.

Panerai's history supports their current production.
Some like it, some don't. Today's releases have nothing to do with Patek's homage. Just 100,000 more revenues and a bit more if a lot of watches are sold through Salons. Best, Kari

I would not say "rude": both Nautilus look very feminine in my perception
The dial print is certainly polarising but I am sure Patek fans will "overlook" this detail. The diamonds are very well chosen and suit the watch actually very good. What else can you make out of a Nautilus than the shown models today?
If it was a must to make WG and platinum watches,
why not to make the other with 240Q movement and use the typical blue dial colour. Using the cork boxes was a great idea - why not to built the watches using the two part case construction. The other watch cold have been, as an example, a simple two hand ...
