For three seconds, I was afraid to read that you decided to let it go.
And then I felt relieved. How can you let tis one go? Other than for a service. This is my favorite vintage Patek. Along with some sector dials. Enjoy the absence, you will feel the miss, then the love for it. Best, Nicolas

Well, I own the 5110P for 12 years and a half, now, and I don't feel the need to service it.

......if i buy a vintage watch, I have no real knowledge of how it has been treated before or when it was last serviced. Also, especially with Patek, I like to make sure that the watch is exactly as it is meant to be...hence I will tend to get them servic...
I totally understand your point when you get a vintage watch. Just to be sure that everything is fine.
For moderns, it depends. I bought my 5110P new from a Patek AD. So, no worries. The 5070 I bought is used. I monitored it for a while and everything went fine, so no hurry. But It's been 7 years I got it.... In one or two years, it will be time to send it...
