Patek 5000 on a Staib
A forward thinking Patek. Though classic/smaller in dial size, this sporty Calatrava wears closer to a 36mm due to strong lugs and 19mm lug width.
I like wearing it on this Staib milanese mesh bracelet. Or even a rubber strap!
For a long time, my grail Rolex was a 1016 explorer. Something about the printed matte dial texture leans into the sporty / casual feel. The older Rolex cases are more to my liking.
Although automotive/dashboard inspired, I think the 5000g gives off a similar vibe.
From behind, the cal 240 fills the case back without a significant gap. The sub seconds on the dial seems just where it should be. Not too low nor close to the centre of the dial.
The g seems more sporty. The j more flashy. A great his/hers combo 😋.

I first read "Patek 5000 on a staub" as in the cast iron skillet maker and thought wow this is wild! Looking good and quite compact on your wrist.

Very comfortable as well. Rubber straps are a great way to “sportify” a watch. Not all geezer watches can be “casualized” 😂
