After 3 days with a new 5712 (never below 24 hours on reserve), I've noticed a 3-second lag. I suppose 3 seconds is hardly significant by any standards -- just like to find out if it's within the expected norm. Thanks.

just kidding A second off a day is as good as it gets for any watch not to mention a new one that sometimes takes a while to settle.Wear it and enjoy it; you have an awesome timekeeper there.

When I discussed with Patek team, they mentionned their range (-2 to +2 sec/day). It is always better to be a little speed to do not loose a date, a train.... Cheers, Patrickh

There are tourbillons that don't even keep to within 1 second a day... You are totally within the expected norm, in fact, you're one of the lucky people who got one that seems to be running almost spot on.

Good to know I've got a good piece! I actually set and tracked the time daily to check on its accuracy. In fact, it didn't drop a sec a day; it was spot on for the first couple of days then seemingly all 3 secs at the end of the third day. I'll continue t... 

...if the time loss is not linear. My 5711g gains 2 seconds a day, which is fine, even by my HEQ standards ;-)

If you can afford a 5712 you can afford not to have to worry about 3 seconds. Well within spec and should be considered in the context of the watch is still "running in"

Has been like that or better for 3.5 years. Should it need regulating I do it at night by laying it on it's back or side, depending on whether I want it to gain or loose a couple of seconds. D in W

That is good average accuracy. If you want to learn more about the watch's performance, time it in different positions to see what the variation is. If the variation is small, the watch is a genuinely good timekeeper. If it 's large, then you're lucky (an... 

Hi MKVC, not sure what you mean by 'different positions' -- do you mean the watch in various positions, ie face up, down, left and right? I have worn the watch every week day (6 days) since I got it and it was unworn over the weekend (4 days), which I sup... 

I just got my 5712/1A last week and started timing it two days ago. As of now, I have a one second lag on the watch after one day. We'll see what happens after a week.
