I thought the 3940 was the first perpetual owner's could set by themselves. If yours has pushers set the watch to 12 noon and work clockwise form the upper left of the case.

You are correct -- this is a Ref. 1526 in pink gold. From its valuation, quite under-appreciated by collectors IMHO relative to its importance and beauty -- very pleased to hear that it is your favorite! Best, Gary
