you will notice that I wind all my watches daily. However, I can appreciate Mike's predicament should he be away from home and prefers not to take his 5270G with him. The watch is a manual perpetual calendar chronograph! A manual perpetual calendar has the disadvantage of having to be wound every two days at least unlike the majority of perpetual calendars that are automatic and can be left on a winder. I am most curious how many owners of manual perpetual chronographs like the 3970,5970 and 5270 wind their watches daily or every two days to keep the perpetual calendar and moonphase accurate.

So those mechanical winders do work huh?! Glad to know that they do but I personally believe one of the greatest joys of owning a watch is personally winding it daily which I do to my small collection. Saying that, it is totally understandable that you wo...

A few points: 1. The pic is a 5270 not a 5170 2. The 5270 is manually wound and does not work on a normal winder 3. The 5170 is manually wound and does not work on a normal winder Is there is such a thing as a winder for manually wound movements?? I would...

Apologies all. My bad, how dare me, it is indeed a 5270 Although I had a 5170 before. I have a few automatic Patek’s as well as FP Journe watches, on a winder, very convenient. the 5270 comes out of the safe on special occasions only, And it may be a whil...

Just a slight clarification Mike

The above winder pictured is for manual winding watches only and therefore anyone with an automatic watch should get a normal watch winder instead of this one which is only for manual winding watches. Well done anyway for investing in this exquisite winde...
