People who own really valuable watches are not very often idiots. Furthermore, if somebody is getting a very valuable watch like 2499 in a legal way, he has also been most probably told about the value of the watch. The right place to sell such a watch would be through an auction house.
Send some pictures and also pictures of the Certificate. The contact Patek, give them the serials and check that the watch is not stolen.
