The Ellipse has never been in my focus and I used to consider it as a model for older gentlemen with a conservative state of
mind

But when I accidentally saw the Ellipse at my dealer’s shop I realized that I was totally wrong. The beauty of this model caught me in a minute and now I am a very happy owner of the Ellipse.

I have ordered the PP strap in matte Alligator instead of the shiny one and love wearing it not only with shirt/jacket but also with casual attire like polos etc. The red gold case goes very well together with the glossy black dial imho. Also, the Ellipse is something completely different from the usual watch design which is making it a very nice alternation from the round „standard“ designs.

As a matter of fact, the older and smaller version of ref. 3738 is a very nice too. Formtest model I would go for the classic yellow gold with blue dial. But as I have a pretty strong wrist and hand my first step into the Ellipse universe was the bigger sister. Maybe there is more to come one day...

Golden Ellipse ...

2nd oldest family in PP model history...any thoughts of this 50th Anniversary 5738R? Not the most “popular” watch that people will recommend but the size has increased to a modern 34.5 with their famous Cal 240. I saw some members own the 5738P which was ...

That’s a stunning model, way beyond any temporary trends...Frankly, its class is impossible to beat👍Glad the R and P versions have remained in the catalog, and are not difficult to source.

This engraved version was the limited edition (of 100) with the same reference number (but in platinum) that was released for the 50th anniversary, also a great one to have if you’re interested! Cheers. ...

Thanks Fab but I’m not privileged enough...

Unfortunately to get the allocation for the 5738/50P that you show due to its 100pc limitation 😅 The current P has been in the catalog since 2008 so you’re saying both R & P should be on any AD window display? It’s been too long since last visit to any AD...

The 100 anniversary P have of course long been assigned, so the only chance (for anyone) is to look for examples that pop up on the grey market (which sometimes do)...

As for the two regular models, I’m not sure they are sitting in every single AD window awaiting your visit (like a PM Calatrava or a 5230...), but it should be no problem in general for your AD to receive one. You could even ask them to get one in for you...

The Golden Ellipse in P is really nice.

I have a 5738P for a number of years now and consider it a rather relaxing and discret watch for every occasion.... ...

Very safe, lol....no one will snatch it like my post in Cellini Prince

as they cannot unload them off to most dealers, haha....anyways, to me if this one can stay for 50yrs, it means something.
