I haven't checked with Patek, so any expert on this reference please feel free to chime in, but my pretty natural guess is that *all* 5170 iterations in the four metals have the same case dimensions (hence 39.4mm x10.9mm). Cheers ;-)

While I cannot say with certainty about 5170, I can't think of any modern Pateks where the case dimensions varied between metals. I can think of a few truly vintage watches where

there were variations within a reference. Eg the very first few 2499s first series cases were made by Vichet. They had a smaller diameter but more elogated lugs than the larger cases made thereafter by Wenger. Another example is the 570 Calatrava. Standar... 

Makes sense, thanks all. That was my suspicion of course but every time I see a photo of the G versions the bezel look different from my P version

The white dial G looks like the thinnest bezel. My P with blue looks middle, along with the J. And the black dial G looks to have the highest bezel-to-dial size ratio

I think so. Should be the same.
