Patek Philippe

I have a 3940 WG...

 

and as far as I am concerned it is perfect. Personally, I like the size and feel that it is perfectly balanced, particularly given the fantastic thin profile. I have had my watch for just over a year and over that time it has been reliable and kept good time (although monitoring variations from atomic time isn't really in the spirit of the watch).

I have tried on a 5140 and although I can understand PP's logic for the modifications, it just didn't seem quite as harmonious as the 3940 but that may simply be a matter of being different from what I am used to.

I just saw the 5140 in the flesh and I must say I'm enamoured. It has a more modern size of 37.2mm and has the perfect face. Appreciate if owners of the 5140 or 3940 can comment on ownership experiences, eg reliability, fragility etc. I know the issue of ...

5140 is my daily wearer at the moment. Modern and better legible than 3940. Can be worn casual and with a suit . I made a quick wristshot for you, hope that helps! Cheers, Domi...

....and shirt! Thanks for taking the photos to respond. Very nice. Some apprehension is that the watch is fragile, I've handled it and it doesn't seem (just an impression) that it'll take the knocks of daily wearing. Any comments on that and/or the timeke...
