Patek Philippe

If I'm not mistaken, this is the second white gold variant of the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Split Seconds Chronograph ref. 5204 . The previous one was olive green (see below), the new one features a sunburst navy blue dial with red chronograph han...  

but a little too sporty for me. Good to see that the little chin is gone in this version. My favourite is the black dial, 5204P-011, one of my grail.

A very impressive watch indeed. That said, in my opinion fabric straps tend to suit sportier watches better, even if straps are easily changed. I also feel that Patek may be leaning a bit too heavily on them across the current collection.

But they're trying to speak to a younger clientele which is looking for a more sporty and "agressive" look. Reason why I personally prefer the classic releases: the new 5396 or the olive Ellipse. Best, Emmanuel
