was auctioned in December last year at a hammer price of US$38,500 (+26% commission). This represented a loss of 53% considering how much I paid for it 7/8 years ago. I suffered a similar loss for my 5059P...
Do think twice if you consider them as long-term investments.

I’ve always admired the 5496 with the applied numbers. I know we don’t do prices here, but I recall seeing that one for less than you mention. The 5496p-014 with the salmon dial is quite a looker as well.

case on the 5496 is a huge scratch magnet. Plus, the dial a little off balance and hard to read due to the retrograde hand. This reference has really been soft in the aftermarket. I do like the gold accents on the newer model over the first model. I owned...
