When I saw, this afternoon, this Patek Philippe ref. 490/1 from 1937 powered by a 9’’’90 calibre, I gasped.
My chances of ever acquiring a ref. 5105P (dedicated thread here) being very slim, I would be more than delighted to acquire such a ref. 490/1 someday.
It was sold for a ridiculously low price last February (see here), but I was unfortunately not aware at all of this sale.
A true dream watch for me (even though it's a steel case). Achingly beautiful and meaningful.
Dimensions: 22 x 43 mm
PS: a similar reference was sold by Antiquorum in 2004, by Phillips in 2017 and by Christie's in 2019.

That 490/1 was surely very tempting...
