As long as I concern, recent Patek Philippe is losing dignity that have owned for a long time.
Traditionally, Patek Philippe perpetual series has moderate logo and big moonphase on the position of 6 o’clock on the dial. Such as 2499.

Moderate logo symbolizes the elegance of Patek and big moonphase makes the view of “centre of gravity” lower and heavier. In my opinion, these elegance and heaviness makes the dignity of Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph. (In general, 5970 and 3970 has the same nature.)
But 5270 lost both.
Since Patek uses new chronograph movement, the sub dials on the 3 and 9 o’clock goes down, moonphase cannot help but shrink……..
Of course, recent Patek uses the log that is oddly huge……..
In addition to that, 5270 lost the sensitivity of details that should have.
If you see the pica above, the shaft(?) on the centre of the hand is beautifully polished, the part covering the shaft is another independent part shaped a circle.
The hand itself is also another independent part and shaped three dimensionally and the edge of the hand is sharpened. That has very complicated hand.
On the other hand, the hand of 5270 is……just a simple one-pressed part.
What I can see from 5270? Childish styling and cost reduction.

IMHO, my initial impression is it looks "bottom heavy" on the dial with the subdials placement on the dial.I kept comparing it to the 5970 dial which looks more coherent.

The only thing I don't like about the dial is the numbering of the date. Seems to be a tad too large IMO. Otherwise, looks like a beautiful watch. Cheers, Anthony

Congratulations to all proud owners of 5970, you have such a timepiece which embodies the soul of the legendary Patek Philippe Perpetual Chrono, a true successor to 1518 and 2499. We don't need history to decide on its legacy. 5270 has proved it.
