Patek Philippe

Hi- I was close in pulling the trigger on a Patek 130, until I saw a 5039 rose gold and am now truly confused on which one to get. I realize both are very different, but any advice would be welcome.... I'll probably end up getting both but not sure I can ...  

I would have no hesitation.... Well, maybe I would go for a Vacheron sibling, much less expensive but not less desirable. In your case, since you are waving between these two, the answer is simple: Get both or none. If you only get one, you will think abo... 

Something for every day, something collectible, something that fits your style, something ...? I don´t know anything about you and your watches, but in general I can imagine both watches in a collection. Which one works best for you? I have no idea, to be... 

Thanks for the responses. I shouldve stated before, looking for a dress watch I can wear on a semi-regular basis, I travel internationally a fair amount, so wouldn't want an uber expensive watch. My daily wearer now is a YG Daytona.I bought an ALS timezon... 

In my opinion, neither of these really fall into the 'daily wearer' category. Of the two, the 5039 is probably more so, especially if you are in business attire (if casual / short sleeves, then the 130). If you looked at the 5070 previously, have you also...  

I agree with the other poster who said wear these gifts with pride. Maybe you could try wearing it for a few days, and see how it goes. I completely understand if it's irreplaceable, not wanting to expose it to loss. But to me, it looks more versatile tha... 

A dress watch for frequent international travelling and not too expensive (the latter is very relative) and for some reasons you seem to favour "vintage" pieces. Both references mentioned by you would not come to my mind and me would prefer "white metal" ...

The 130 and its 1940ies air force chrono look remind me too much of a Breitling/Jaeger of the same vintage; in my eyes it does not have the typical "unique" PP look. The 5039 is an overkill - I would want either the hobnail bezel OR the 3940 complications... 

My favourite Perpetual Calendar and one of the weetest chronograph. Hard to decide here, I prefer the 5039 in white gold though and the 130 is so sooo sweet. 130 between both but really two wonderful watches. Just my taste.
