Legacy is not a mere thing. However, it depends on how it is used, by who etc... And in the luxury field, it is quite overused.
In cultures, sport teams, Universities and so on, you have that pride that legacy is the continuation of an effort and way of thinking, doing etc...
In this case, I think that Patek Philippe has always followed a line where it remained true to traditional watchmaking (finishing, mechaniques, style...) and this is exactly a significant element of why the brand is so respected today.
Even though the watch itself is what we may enjoy, the "spirit" that comes with the brand is also an element to consider even if "intangible".
Enjoy your watch and thanks for sharing, we have so much complicated piece owners who share their rare watches that we sometimes forget how beautiful these simple 3 handers are.
