Patek Philippe

As I understand it

the watches are placed in a chamber containing water to the desired pressure and, in fact, the watch can withstand 30 meters of static water pressure if its passes the test. Nothing misleading there. The key is the test is in static non moving water. When you add motion as you would in swimming or diving, the actual pressures then exceed, in 30 meters of water those of static non moving water of 30 meters, by a considerable amount. The force on moving water is quite substantial as we all know. This is why 100 meters is the recommended pressure resistance for swimming. I hope that makes sense and is again as I understand it.
