As I gently sailed away on the beautiful tones ....
.... of Woody Shaw's "Seventh Avenue" (on his 1978 record Stepping Stones: Live at the Village Vanguard) I reflected on the pitfalls of internet communications.
How easy it is to misunderstand each others intentions. How easy it is to insult one another unintentionally. Even a benign Australian is injured by "friendly fire"
I am sure that if we all would meet face to face at a nice place it would be a wonderful and unforgettable gathering. With - as my wife always say - lots of kisses and happy laughter.
I intend to hold that thought.
If one thing I learned from this thread it is the variety and depth of the catalog of Patek. As a "poor" salaryman I never had much attention for Patek's high priced complications.
But BH's question gave me the impulse to study Patek's chronographs and made me admire Patek's design abilities. There is one for every taste. I myself was particularly touched by the elegance and the timeless beauty of the 5950. What a triumph in design this watch is. In my opinion, of course!
Anyway, I wish you all a Very Nice Weekend.
I would go with the 5074p.......

Its one of the nicest watch's on the planet IMO and the one I would go with. As far as this post goes I think everone's being a little hard on BH90210. We see and gladly respond to posts all the time to watches of lesser value, why wouldn't these response...
Some thoughts

Your collection is heavy on chronographs and if you decided that this was the theme you wished to continue further, then the 5959 and 5950 are the logical choices. My preference would be for the 5959 but you should appreciate that this is a small watch - ...
In the end . . . .

It's whatever lights your fire that counts. Someone else's opinion may or may not be applicalbe to your case. In the end, it's your money, it's your wrist that will display the watch. That's why you need to be the ultimate judge. There are certain models ...
5074 for me

its my favorite PP in the current collection. It sounds great. If this was my choice to make, I would arrange to view all three pieces. I know the Geneva boutique has almost all the pieces available to view and they treated me so well last time I was ther...

Dear Dje, You actually missed PinkPanther first post which is 2 post above the one you saw, at May 2nd 2010 at 12:12, clearly said "PM Sent", and in his PM was the same question like his 2nd post "Are you a grey dealer?". I do find this kind of pm, questi...

I don't like bad feelings or tension; that's not what this site is for. The fact is, there are people who want to abuse our forum or not follow our rules. And when found out, we should deal with them simply and quickly. But in the absence of unequivocal b...
quite a thread...
By: mjnoumoff : May 8th, 2010-07:35
this is quite a thread that has developed. what sticks out in my mind is the "security measure" that Patek has taken to ensure that only worthy collectors are able to purchase their grand complication watches and hopefully will not flip them soon after de...
