Advice needed
Hi all I was wondering as I was wearing my new watch whether the shirt could scratch the watch ? It’s 100% cotton but the fabric is slightly rigid at the sleeves and the collar purposely.
And if yes any advice to avoid this.
Also I am used to much thinner watches so hence maybe I never noticed that

I wouldn't call it risk since there is no uncertainty, hairlines are going to happen 100% 😬
It happens with all metals, maybe different with titanium or ceramic, but white gold for sure.
Slight swirls from the shirt sleeves are
unavoidable, wouldn't spend any time worrying about them. There's more important things in life to worry about anyway.

However cleaning with soft fibre cloth would help but using any chemical compound would lead to erosion of gold . If you are an OCD person then we are in trouble . Have you tried using Cape Cod Cleaning cloths . They might help a bit ..
Yes, you will get fine scratches and hairlines when wearing a watch.

We all get scratches growing up and living life, it's ok to embrace the imperfections that come with time and with experience. There's one thing we should remember: no matter how much we fight back, entropy will always win.

I think overall it’s just that I am used to extra thin watches like the 5120 so this one is prob one of the thickest one I wear and more subject to scratches etc so just wondered if anyone had any tips

Not questioning the scratch on a watch but more if there is a way to keep it away from scratches. If so I would rather try to reduce the damages. In this instance my question is more whether there are fabrics that tend to be less harmful to the watch tho ...

It will be much more boring but your precious is guaranteed to stay mint. My god, is this what we have come to? Choosing what fabric of clothes to wear to keep a watch from scratching.

Will inevitably result in scratches. If this bothers you, don’t wear it. That would probably be missing the point of the whole experience, so I highly recommend wearing it, scratching it, and forgetting about it as you experience life with it on your wris...

I would definitely wear it but if I can avoid some scratches I would rather try tbh
Hi Kev, Scratches are unavoidable once you wear a watch, but you can
apply some watch protective coating on it if you wish.
