.....i think you draw attention to two wonderful watches.
Like you, I sometimes scratch my head as to why certain models become so coveted while others remain seemingly cheap. In this instance, I can fully understand why the 3417 is so desirable. It is a manual, steel, tool watch by PP.......in itself this is such a rarity. What i cannot understand is why the 2584 (indeed any of the Calatrava with the 12-600 movement) remains so cheap. That specific movement was the very first Patek automatic movement, I believe....and found in under a dozen references.....in total, I think some 7000 watches with that movement. It is possibly the nicest automatic movement one could hope for in an automatic.....
I suspect this is an instance where sooner or later, these specific references will become hot......and the market's evaluation of price will develop.
