Patek Philippe

A good showing I think

Thanks Marcus for this report. I think what has gone somewhat unnoticed is how brave and well constructed Patek's offering has been for women this year (and last year with the "Ladies First" 7071 chronograph). While I can not comment on whether it will be a commercial success, it is very encouraging and good to see that Patek is making grand complications for women that combine both the technical sophistication and aesthetic appeal. Watches like the 7059 (split seconds chronograph) and 7000 (minute repeater) are new category types for a woman's watch. The pictured simpler 7041 is a very beautiful watch and as you say, very well proportioned and elegant. I wish Patek "24" level luck with this model.

The men's watches this year had a few highlights for me - obviously the 5270, which will be a great success for Patek; the blue-10 day tourbillon is absolutely stunning; and the aquanaut which, while not being my cup of tea as a general design, has brought out a nice practical aesthetic that will appeal to the non-converted in my opinion. I would love to have the luxury of making it my practical travel watch.

Thanks again for a very nice report!
