5960-01G was too sporty, edgy, avant garde for Patek to remain in the lineup more than it has been. Will probably be replaced with a different iteration of sportiness from 5960 line. I would like to see one in SS on bracelet in blue like the 01G. [nt]

Discontinued Pateks Just Announced...
Patek just announced the following references have been discontinued: 5711 White dial 5370P
would be cool if they had the guts to discontinue the blue 5711/1a too
no more steel and make a white gold for example. They would sell too and the profit margin for Patek would be MUCH higher ... so why not ...
Discontinuation of 5711/1A-011 could be the beginning of it.

I don't think discontinuation will have a big impact on the value of the 5496P.
There are several versions of 5496P which has already been discontinued and secondary market prices are very soft for those references.

It also was in production for a while, then stopped. Personally, and I voted with my wallet, the white dial 5711 was a more visually appealing watch. 100% subjective view of course. I do wonder if some people will now look back and arrive at the same conc...
