5059J vs. 5159J movement and wrist presence.
Hello my fellow purists. I am in the hunt for a perpetual calendar. In speaking with another forum member who is quite knowledgeable on the subject he mentioned the 5059. I owned the 5054 15 years ago and loved the officers case and look on the wrist. It is an intriguing watch. Unique which is why I like it.
What are your thoughts on the differences between the respective movements 315 S QR in the 5059 and the 324 S QR in the 5159. I am considering yellow gold. As far as I can see the 5059 can be had for about 50% less than the 5159.
36 mm may also be a little small these days but 15 years ago I was fine with it in my 6 5/8 inch wrist.

The difference between the movements is minimal:
3 Hz vs. 4 Hz. My wrist is 8 inches and I could well wear 5059. If 5159 is so much more expensive, by all means go for the older version. Best, Kari

324 movement has a cadence of 28,800 over the 21,? of the 315. Big difference is the 315 has a longer power reserve and the second hand of the 324 is a bit smoother. I think you may the wrong the 5059 seems to do well. Otherwise the 324 SQR is really not ...

It wears well
I guess it feels slightly larger than 36 because of its thickness but it\'s comfortable and still fits under my shirt cuff.
