Besides having a great relationship with your dealer, How do you get one? Does Patek have to view you as a collector of many pieces?

I think that you are correct in your assumption. They only made beteen 200-300 and as you can imagine,they were very soon sold.

They will make 300 (it is a limited edition) and I think not even one has been delivered so far. So you still have a - small - chance to get one at list price through your AD.

Wonder how much we have to pay for the 5450P. Incidentally, how much would one have to pay for the 5350R- if one is available? We all know its limited and sold only to certain people.

The 5450 as well as the 5350, are available in the USA.

No they are sold thru dealers in the USA as well. More and more of the hard to get watches, (read that as models sold by Gray market dealers for more than retail), are becoming application pieces. I do not know if the 5450 is or is not an application piec... 

It is sorted at Basel.

Patek have a list at Basel. AD's pitch for allocation. They have to name the customer it is destined for. Patek then allocate (or not) based, I think, on prior purchasing history of the customer. They are (to the best of my knowledge) all allocated by the...
